Google plan to provide Wireless service as a mobile virtual network operator ( MVNO) by acquiring excess network capacity from Sprint and T-Mobile could lead to a potential acquisition and merger of the two carriers. A future Google wireless comprised of the two carriers could truly compete with likes of Verizon and AT&T and spun major innovations in this stagnate market.
