A key note from a commenter on the page:
If I were a student, I would be much more interested in the white box nweb server (http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/systems/library/es-nweb/index.html) than a black box Python module. Why? because the former is a simple, but comprehensible webserver. If I understood that one, I would be able to expand it in any direction I liked instead of being bound by whatever Python offers me. It CLARIFIES things instead of MYSTIFYING things. Instead of just just applying techniques, I would be creating them. That's real education - making architects instead of consumers. - Hans Bezemer on 23 Oct 2013

The War We Are Living: Women, War & Peace in Colombia | Women, War and Peace | PBS
"If you ask Colombia’s city dwellers and governing political class, they’ll tell you the country’s 40-year-old civil war is over. But The War We Are Living reveals the “other” Colombia, in rural areas far away from the capital, where the war is all too real – and now the battle is over gold. In Cauca, a mountainous region in Colombia’s Pacific southwest, two extraordinary Afro-Colombian women are fighting to hold onto the gold-rich land that has sustained their community through small-scale mining for centuries." - Women, War and Peace | PBS
Science fiction can rescue black communities - Frost Illustrated Newspaper : Frost Illustrated Newspaper
Finally, an article that stress the need for Afro Americans to look beyond past vision of what's been defined as life for the African diaspora. Must genre focus on the past with no vision for moving beyond yesterday, basically stuck in the past. Understanding the past is important but one must visualize an exist strategy that builds a foundation of existence beyond the current, without it one can never truly be free.

6 Things You Should Quit Doing To Be More Successful - Forbes
6 Things You Should Quit Doing To Be More Successful - Forbes
- Quit Stopping - Remember why you started it, then push onward.
- Quit Saying Tomorrow - Seriously, stop that! Delaying or procrastinating around something that you think is important means one of two things. You’re either scared to start because it means your life will change or you want it for the wrong reasons (i.e. someone else is encouraging you to do it).
- Quit Being A Victim - if you’re choosing to remain in a place that isn’t positive, you’re victimizing yourself... Eventually, you’ll have to ask yourself whether you even want to fix the problem.
- Quit Saying Yes - You may just need to analyze when you’re saying yes and what you’re trading for it. You might find yourself saying yes to things you don’t even care about and no to things that could make your life better in some way.
- Quit Expecting - Don’t expect them to read your mind. They’ll only know what you need when you tell them
- Quit Avoiding - just get up and get it done.
