Atlas, the new robot from Boston Dynamics, sets a new standard for robot capabilities (VIDEO).

The New Robot From Boston Dynamics Is Eerily Human-LIke (Video)
Boston Dynamics began as an offshoot of MIT and is now wholly owned by Google parent company Alphabet. The company consults for DARPA, multiple branches of the United States military, and various global corporations.
The electric-powered and hydraulically operated Atlas is about 5 feet 9 inches tall, weighing in at a stout 180 lbs. The key to its navigation skills is what’s truly amazing, though. Per Boston Dynamics, its ability to avoid obstacles and handle objects comes from the partnership between sensors in its body and legs and LIDAR and special stereo sensors in its head. And the result of those navigatorial breakthroughs is obvious: Atlas’ ability to assess and respond to challenging terrain is nothing short of amazing. Living where I do, I can tell you there is not an environment that is harder to traverse than a snowy forest floor.

Zuckerberg scolds Facebook staff for striking 'Black Lives Matter' from wall
‘All Lives Matter’ is one of a number of coded phrases that tell employees of color that they don’t really belong. Similar to the damning praise of telling a Black man that he is articulate, or complaining that diversity efforts mean ‘lowering the bar,’ ”- sacbee.com

Could 'White Privilege Glasses' Be The Next Thing To Change The World?

A new study by Stanford University suggests that those who want to deny white privilege exists do so by saying that they have overcome hardships in their lives. They feel that they have not gained any special treatment by the color of their skin, but misunderstand what the term “white privilege" means. Ana Kasparian (The Point) and Ben Mankiewicz (What The Flick?!) hosts of The Young Turks discuss.

Nim game

Nim game: Nim is a simple combinatory game with finite possibilities. But unlike tic-tac-toe, that other game of limited possibilities, there is tremendous variety in both Nim's conception and implementation. The theory of the Nim game was discovered by mathematics professor Charles Bouton at Harvard University in 1901. In fact, Bouton, who wanted to use the game to demonstrate the advantage of the binary number system, found a simple formula, with which, from the state of play, players can determine correct moves immediately.
