 I read an article about Dr. Dean back in the nineties, I just recently notice my son reading an article about him on Black-Inventors.com

"Frustrated by the bulkiness of newspapers, Dean came up with the idea for a rugged, magazine-sized device that could download any electronic text, from newspapers to books. The device would also be a DVD player, radio, wireless telephone and provide access to the Internet. It would recognize handwriting (written directly on the screen), be voice-activated and even talk back."

"Dean has been with IBM since 1980. Dean holds 3 of the original 9 patents on the computer that all PCs are based upon: Soon after joining IBM, Dean and a colleague, Dennis Moeller, developed the interior achitecture (ISA systems bus) that enables multiple devices, like modem and printer, to be connected to personal computers. Then he worked for a number of years before considering the doctorate."

Kenny Pugh of Black Enterprise lays out a good perspective on this subject

In his article he pose the following question with sound supporting points

1. Why are so many of us not finishing high school and opting to simply underachieve?
2. Why are so many of us looking for the quick-fix hustle and instant wealth gratification?

"We are not only basketball players or football players, but we can become influential members of society. There is nothing wrong with becoming a doctor, lawyer, entrepreneur (legal of course) or corporate executive(s). Start dreaming big, but remember that an entire generation will be lost if we continue at our current pace. The black man’s absence is causing the black family to miss out on generational wealth and legacy building. We CAN’T afford for this to continue!"

Google and Mozilla, have joined forces to develop Browser based Real Time Video Conferencing.  WebRTC is available in the Chrome's stable and Firefox's Nightly version, which indicates Google's Chromeis a little father ahead that Fire Fox. Fire Fox being true to form allows for customization via about:config which is placed in the address bar.

WebRTC is a free, open project that enables web browsers with Real-Time Communications (RTC) capabilities via simple Javascript APIs. The WebRTC components have been optimized to best serve this purpose. 

The code that implements WebRTC native APIs (including the Stream and the PeerConnection APIs) are available in libjingle. A sample client application is also provided there.
